I do not claim to have the answers but simply ask the questions and share the resultant information.

Why this site?
In the beginning
Where and why the journey started
If you don’t know where you came from, you’ll never know where you’re going. To know what is happening, you have to know who the players are.
Cultural bias
It is not “One World” and it never has been.
LINGUISTIC
Words are symbols that represent concepts. Not all languages have words with the same meanings.
Geography
Over time the political divisions have shifted, and names have changed. It is imperative to understand the “where” and therefore the “who” behind the story.
Visual
What did the place look like? What was it like to live there? What were the clothing customs and the food customs? What did the people look like?
